About the role 

At Springer Nature, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is one of our highest strategic priorities. This fixed term role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled DEI manager to leverage their expertise and actively drive Springer Nature’s global DEI strategy. The Manager, Global DEI (Learning Projects) will be responsible for driving global projects with a self-driven and organized approachThis role will also serve as the geographic partner to teams across the business to support putting our DEI strategy into practice locally. The role holder will work in a collaborative, global DEI team of 5 people and report to the VP Global DEI based in Berlin, Germany.  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Drive and continuously develop our DEI training programmes, such as our DEI Learning Journey or Inclusive Hiring training, and manage participation in external development programmes 

  • Help integrate the DEI strategy into business processes including recruitment, performance management, leadership development, employee engagement and retention 

  • Lead and coordinate the Springer Nature Opening Doors Internship Programme 

  • Collaborate with HR partners, corporate affairs and other stakeholders for DEI strategy implementation   

  • Function as advisor and point of contact regionally for DEI projects  

  • Communicate regionally to raise visibility and awareness of DEI strategies and initiatives 

 

Experience, skills and qualifications: 

  • Professional experience in a previous DEI or HR Role, with knowledge of HR processes and DEI research, benchmarks and best practices 

  • Hands-on project management experience with the ability to translate complex ideas into manageable and structured work tasks, including event planning and management 

  • Experience with delivery and facilitation of workshops, discussion rounds and training sessions, in-person and virtual 

  • Ability to use communication and presentation skills to discuss all aspects of diversity, equity and inclusion with a range of audiences and build relationships with internal stakeholders  

  • Self-motivated, flexible, resilient and able to work independently as part of a global team 

  • Intercultural awareness and experience working within a complex and high pace international organisation 

  • Fluent English language skills 

  • Ability to travel internationally when required
