Unlike employees in traditional roles, freelancers don't automatically receive maternity leave or benefits, which puts women freelancers at a severe disadvantage. The lack of a legal framework to support parental leave for freelancers forces many to choose between their career and expanding their family or significantly impacts their income during this period.
