With over fifteen years’ experience impacting design, marketing, software, and user experience, and her innate understanding of strategy and design-thinking, Kelly Jura is driven by the way that people experience ideas. Kelly possesses a strong strategic mindset on how consumer behaviors, assumptions, and user interaction with technology affect design.
Kelly redesigned Screencast-O-Matic’s hosting platform as a standalone product and her empathetic approach to problem-solving led to the creation of Screencast-O-Matic’s first mobile apps, as well as the video messaging app, ScreenPal. Kelly is certified by MIT in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) for User Experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing from the University of Bridgeport.
Especially for the WomenTech Network, Kelly agreed to give an interview, share her story and experience.

Tell us about your experience as a Women in Tech Global Conference 2022 speaker.
I had the privilege of discussing how User Experience is your relationship with your users. This exposure has provided me with the opportunity to connect with many like-minded women seeking to expand their careers in tech, including product development, design, and user experience.
What is your favorite thing about working in tech?
I enjoy the challenge. There is always a problem to solve and something to better understand. Because it is an iterative environment, ongoing opportunities exist to optimize the experience. It is a rewarding feeling to validate a hypothesis through data and equally enjoyable to have an idea rejected by interesting data.
What advice (and tips) would you give to women who want to start a tech career?
A path into technology does not look the same for everyone. I started in advertising, marketing, and communications before moving into technology. I leverage all of my prior experience to better our products' user experience (UX). If you are interested in a career in technology and think you have something to offer – leap, persevere, then empower others.
Who would you recommend to join the WomenTech Network?
You should join the WomenTech network if you want to expand your network and be inspired by top-notch tech talent. This network is full of positive energy and a wealth of knowledge.
