Reflecting on My Journey
As a Women in Tech Global Awards 2024 winner, what does this recognition mean to you, and how does it reflect your journey and impact in tech?
I am so honored to be recognized as a Women in Tech Global Awards winner! This recognition is not about being winner as there were many outstanding female speakers but it is about recognition from your peers that what you are doing is impactful and meaningful. I would never have expected recognition like this 25 years ago in my professional journey, nor would I have even volunteered to speak to an audience of this size, so even being included and nominated is a significant achievement.
Tech Industry's Most Rewarding Aspects
In your experience, what is the most rewarding aspect of working in the tech industry, and how has it influenced your career path?
There is a lack of women in technology, and being a part of the few makes me feel like I am a member of a pretty exclusive community! I enjoy being a trail blazer, so being a female leader in tech is a natural part of that journey. I am paving the way for the future!
My Tech Career Milestone
Could you share a defining moment or a key achievement in your tech career that has been particularly impactful or meaningful to you?
Being tapped for new roles that are undefined by your leaders or being asked to contribute to the highest priorities of the company with the most visibility is an incredibly rewarding achievement. It means that you were selected as someone who can get something done that others can’t, and that is the best feeling in the world.
Empowering Women in Tech: Real Stories, Career Advice, and Tips
From your experience, what essential advice and practical tips would you offer to women aspiring women in tech to establish a successful career?
Be yourself. Don’t try to emulate anyone else, and bring your whole self to work whether that is being creative, resourceful, opinionated, or demanding the best. Our unique qualities make us who we are and the best at what we do.
Who would you recommend to join the WomenTech Network, and why?
WomenTech Network has been an amazing place to connect with other female leaders, learn from them, and share insights. I have learned so much from the amazing community of brilliant and accomplished women leaders, and everyone should join. If you’re just starting your professional career, then you will gain great advice. If you are well established, you will meet fantastic women with whom you can bounce ideas and share support—and you might even find a mentee or mentor in the process!
