Our Data Experience team consists of collaborative, inclusive, and creative individuals. We develop big data applications and services with high reliability and massive scale on top of Akamai's growing compute platform.

Be part of enhancing our organization

You will work at the heart of the Internet building and operating the next generation big data applications. You will be an integral part of cross-functional scrum team owning the design, development, deployment and maintenance of big data applications used by internal Akamai customers.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer Lead, you will be responsible for:

• Participating in design, development, improving, operating and automation of complex distributed systems
• Managing remote resources through infrastructure and configuration management
• Implementing and improving monitoring, alerting and emergency response procedures and maneuvers
• Diagnosing system performance and reliability
• Partnering with development and test groups to create rapid cycles of feedback and improvement

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will need to:

• Have a Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, another related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience in automating processes using script languages like Python or Bash
• Have intermediate knowledge of Linux operating system, its commands, services and configuration
• Have intermediate knowledge of Web technologies
• Have experience with Linux, networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, DNS and/or HTTP
• Demonstrate successful leadership skills, able to collaborate, prioritize, and solve problems in an ever-changing environment
