We are looking for a highly motivated Lead Accountant to join our US accounting team, and work in collaboration with internal teams. You’ll be intellectually curious with a strong attention to detail and accuracy, have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, have outstanding analytical skills, and welcome sophisticated problems.

As a Lead Accountant, you will be exposed to multiple areas of accounting. In addition, you will also support the accounting team in conducting key activities such as month-end close for US entity. This role will report directly to the Manager, Accounting.

Please note that this role will require working in the following time slots, the role is remote with shift allowance paid out:

1. **7 PM to 4 AM IST** - during peak payout time to review payroll processed
2. **4 PM to 1 AM IST** - during non peak


What you'll do
  • Handle end to end accounting for US parent company.
  • Work with country based local teams to successfully transition processes in house to India
  • Have a sound knowledge on US GAAP and have experience of accounting for R&D capitalization and Software Implementation Costs. 
  • Coordinate with International Payroll team to ensure accurate accounting for the monthly employee payroll and off cycle payroll accounting
  • Familiar with ASC 985, ASC 350 and ASC 842 standards and accounting as per these standards.
  • Support manager in actively helping make month end closing deadlines in time
  • Preparation, review and approval of balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
  • Analysis of key P&L accounts to ensure correct accounting for accruals and spends, both OpEx and CapEx
  • Preparation of monthly Flux analysis and selective deep dive reviews to ensure compliance with global accounting policies and US GAAP
  • Handling PBC requests timely for Statutory and Tax audits and lead identified areas in the audits to interact with the auditors.
  • Assist team management to automate routine transactions and various other systems initiatives
  • Support the team management on multiple accounting and finance activities for local statutory compliance and US GAAP as needed.

This role requires
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 
  • Having a minimum of 7+ years of work experience in international accounting organizations 
  • Good communication skills to keep others informed of process progress and escalations
  • Strong experience in accounting following US GAAP principles
  • Systems savvy with a good understanding of ERPs like Netsuite, WorkDay, Coupa and SaaS Accounting Systems and how to extract, organize and analyze data (Power Point, Advance Excel, etc.).
  • Ability and experience of interacting with Statutory and Tax auditors for timely audit completion
  • Team player, self-motivated, ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Keen eye to evaluate automation opportunities and identifying efficiency measures

Bonus points if you have
  • Professional accounting degrees like CWA/CPA/CA/CMA but not a must
  • R2R in US GAAP
  • Handling multiple legal entities and international accounting closing
