When coaching women of color, especially Black women, I often advise them to set aside 'imposter syndrome.' It’s crucial to understand the origins of this term—it wasn’t coined with women of color in mind and often overlooks intersectionality, power, and privilege. Furthermore, it promotes a negative internal monologue that can lead to feelings of exclusion, as women may feel pressured to conform to a certain mold rather than embracing their authentic selves.
