Session: NRO Overview
Dr. Mary Elizabeth Wagner will present a general overview of the National Reconnaissance Office, including the agency’s history and mission, as well as a summary of different ways to engage in basic research collaborations. The National Reconnaissance Office is a United States Department of Defense agency that is responsible for the nation’s spy satellites, supporting the US military, Intelligence Community, policymakers, and other federal partner agencies.
Bio
Currently, Dr. Wagner works as a research scientist within NRO’s Advanced Systems and Technology Directorate, which focuses on cultivating the R&D for the next generation of reconnaissance satellites. Prior to joining the NRO, she took her doctorate in 2021 from MIT’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering, where she focused on developing new models for metal chemistry in high temperature extraction processes.
