Session: Taking a Carrot Approach to Cyber Training
Cyber security and phishing training too often entail a stick approach rather than a carrot approach. Employees that fall victim to a phishing simulation may get angry and the lesson that was supposed to be taught goes by the way side. Bio
Katie Whitt is a GSEC certify Security Analyst at one of the top children’s hospitals in the US. For the last 7 years she has been at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, progressing from Service Desk Analyst, where she won Mid-West Ohio Analyst of the Year, to her current role as a Security Analyst, where she is involved in IT GRC and information security. Katie has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Ball State University and a Master of Science in Marketing from Franklin University. Katie is especially proud of the development of the phishing training program at NCH, where she was able to use her background in customer support, training, and ITIL knowledge management to bring a customer-centric approach to the development of her organization’s Phishing program as it evolves to match the challenges of the changing threat landscape
