Description:

 

The HR Systems Solution Architect is responsible for providing technical leadership in driving the HR systems ecosystem/architecture and resulting roadmap for global HR solutions. They will be responsible for partnering with HR Centers of Excellence, HRIT, Infrastructure and Cyber Security to ensure the end state solutions meet the standards, design and implementation approaches for business, HR and workforce. 

 

The Architect will review the business context for solutions to HR challenges as well as define the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), and partner with the HR CoEs and HR Systems to select the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.  They will monitor and maintain awareness of HR trends and industry platforms to identify new capabilities, make recommendations, conduct proof of concepts, and evolve standards.    

 

Responsibilities:

  • Combine HR business acumen with technical skills working closely with HR to architect high quality HR driven solutions to complex problems.
  • Design solutions that are extensible, reusable, secure, reliable, cost optimized, operationally excellent, and performant.
  • Develop and maintain the multi-year HR technology roadmap and strategy in collaboration with HR business stakeholders.
  • Develop solution options, recommendations, designs based on domain roadmaps/requirements, enterprise security standards and reference architectures
  • Extensive level of industry acumen; keeps current with trends and able to converse on multiple client levels about requirements, solution, issues and challenges.
  • Engage, collaborate, and partner with various functional leaders, technical leaders, and executive partners globally
  • Provide technology mentorship and insight to various business & technology Domain leaders
  • Ensure architecture alignment across domains and enabling functions
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value
  • Lead and coordinate technical reviews (architectural, security, compliance, etc.)
  • Leverage recognized technical and business expertise to influence, guide, and shape business strategy and decision- making at the highest organizational levels.
  • Provide expert technical advice to domain delivery team and monitor solution compliance with HP's architecture principles.
  • Provide consultation, design input, and feedback for application development and design reviews for HR system implementations
  • Effectively collaborate with onshore or offshore team for delivering solutions.
  • Advocate and drive adoption of "standard methodologies" to ensure standardization of solution designs across the enterprise
  • Has in-depth understanding of the product and services portfolio roadmaps of multiple HR CoEs


Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Overall 10+ years of implementation experience in HR, Payroll or IT.
  • Experience architecting/designing Global system implementations
  • Experience in overall architecture of software systems providing architectural direction for medium to large sized projects. 

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Industry expert regarding development of software systems, design tools, and languages
  • Knowledge and comprehension of business process and system architecture across the “Hire to Retire” value stream and their dependencies and impacts across the enterprise technology ecosystem
  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving and fact-finding skills.
  • Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture
  • Ability to write Statements of Work for large enterprise or global level solutions that span multiple technologies or operational areas.
  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at the most senior organizational levels.
  • Ability to understand the customer’s business problem, need, or opportunity and to design a solution that completely and correctly addresses the need.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to identify, clarify and resolve project issues and risks as needed.
  • Strong relationship building skills to effectively partner with HR CoEs and other internal teams and external vendors.
  • Ability to manage time and resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently.
