About the Role
Scientific American, a division of Springer Nature, and one of the world’s most prestigious science and innovation brands, seeks a Media Partnerships Manager to help oversee and coordinate a wide range of client programs (advertising, sponsorship and custom media solutions) for a diverse set of commercial partners.
The Media Partnerships Manager will oversee multiple tasks for client projects, ranging from lead prospecting and pre-sale client meeting coordination, through post-sale client relations and program management. Additionally, this position will be a key point person for entering and monitoring sales data into a CRM portal, liaising with finance and the central sales operation teams, and assuring that the multiple administrative functions associated with Scientific American’s commercial partnerships are executed and monitored. The Media Partnerships Manager will work with the business teams and the head of commercial operations, along with other departments and divisions within Scientific American and Springer Nature.
This is s growth-oriented position and will include the ability to take on a portion of sales ownership and a growing client-base.
Responsibilities:

Assist in the development of client proposals for key accounts in response to digital and integrated RFPs, collaborating with head of publishing strategy and the sales team.

Manage communications with clients and prospects to coordinate meetings and relevant collateral trafficking.

Enter and monitor sales data for commercial programs; manage the billing process and align with appropriate finance teams

Assist in the execution of client media programs, working with the marketing program manager and the content development teams

Help to manage timelines, budgets, vendors, and talent for a wide range of commercial programs

Support the business team in researching and identifying new commercial prospects

Assist in forging new strategic partnerships and ad product innovations across developing platforms

Help to develop new ways to engage with our audience and advertisers; facilitate new product ideas and innovations

Develop category and client expertise, sharing knowledge and best practices across the greater sales team

Work with sales team to strengthen key client relationships

Attend select client meetings and program kick-off calls

Help to project manage select sponsorship programs

Stay connected throughout the execution and reporting phase of client programs to ensure quality of program success

Take on select sales functions and “own” a growing client list
Experience, Skills andQualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree required
-
3-5 years related experience
-
Media sales management experience with a focus on client servicing preferred
-
Marketing background with commercial/advertising experience
-
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
-
The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders
-
Familiarity with CRM and project management tools such as Salesforce and Workfront a plus
-
A consensus-building disposition, and the ability to work in teams, across departments and divisions

Proficient in most office software applications

US Annualized Base Salary Range: $75,000 - 90,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level and equity. The US salary range does not align with the salary ranges in other countries when converted to the currency of that country.
