Your opportunity
We’re looking for a data-driven and entrepreneurial product management leader who cares more about building high-impact product experiences than the process of Product Management.

This job is a formative career opportunity to own our Real User Monitoring (RUM) product strategy and business. New Relic is the most widely deployed performance monitoring solution for frontend applications, and you’ll own the main platform capability that engineers at some of the world’s best companies use every day.

This role is ideal for a technical product leader who is passionate about tools for engineers and is excited about defining the next generation of products improving the quality of end user digital experiences. You will find this leadership role to have a direct impact like you would in a startup, yet benefit from the safety of a ~$1B business with a clear product-market fit and a very large addressable market.

What you'll do
You will own product direction for New Relic’s RUM team in partnership with the head of RUM Engineering. Focus areas include:
  • The canonical list of problems we’re solving and could be solving for our customers with real user monitoring
  • A data-driven approach to understanding user journeys - finding out what works and opportunities to improve the product experience
  • The product strategy & roadmap to solve more customer problems, drive greater user adoption, and greater product differentiation
  • Ship UX that allows power users to go deep and new users to intuitively understand how to get started
  • Partner with other product leaders to drive adoption of RUM through other product capabilities.
  • Lead Product Managers on the RUM team

This role requires
  • BS/BA degree required in Computer Science or Engineering or applicable work experience
  • 18+ years demonstrated experience in Product Management/Engineering
  • 10+ years people management experience desirable
  • Previous experience with Observability tools.
  • Expertise in making product decisions using data analytics and understanding product usage patterns
  • A love for delightful UX and a keen eye for detail
  • Prior experience with monitoring tools - as a user or as a builder
  • History of getting things done that require cross-functional collaboration and alignment
  • References from partners in Engineering and Design
  • Experience leading product management with a passion for people leadership rooted in helping your team do their best work, hiring, and performance mentoring
  • Frameworks to balance technical debt reduction with introducing innovations

Bonus points if you have
  • Previous experience as a founder or early employee at a tech startup
  • Experience leveraging LLMs/AI to solve challenging user problems and bring delightful experiences to end users
