Job Summary

The Communications Leader for India will report to the APAC Communications Leader and serve as the primary communications counsel to the site leadership in Bangalore. They will lead a small team and be responsible for providing strategic guidance and support in all communications matters ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives. In addition to counsel, they will be tasked with leading the integrated communications mandate for NetApp’s brilliant work in enabling businesses to harness their data in a way that allows them to consistently turn disruption into opportunity. The Communications leader will collaborate closely with the APAC Communications Leader and other global team members to drive impactful communications initiatives.

The responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic communications counsel and support to the site leadership in India, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives. 

  • Develop and execute integrated communication strategies for the India site, in line with the APAC communications strategy. 

  • Collaborate with the APAC Communications Leader and other team members to drive the execution of communication projects and campaigns. 

  • Oversee communications budgets for the Bangalore site, ensuring effective allocation of resources. 

  • Foster the growth and development of the communications team in Bangalore, providing leadership and direction. 

  • Establish and track performance metrics for communications throughout India, ensuring objectives are met and success is quantifiable. 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on communications matters to both functional and go-to-market teams throughout the region. 

  • Build and maintain media relationships specific to the India market, manage inquiries, and provide support during crisis situations. 

  • Coordinate and enhance the presence at regional marketing initiatives, conferences, and industry events throughout India. 

  • Uphold brand integrity and consistency in communications throughout India, in alignment with the overall APAC communications strategy. 

  • Drive internal and leadership communications across India, providing a line of sight between high-level strategy and individual actions and goals. 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in communications, with a focus on the India region. 
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing communications strategies and campaigns. 
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for various audiences. 
  • Deep understanding of the India market and cultural nuances. 
  • Experience in crisis communications and media relations. 
  • Knowledge of digital communication platforms.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders. 
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in communications, with a focus on the India region.
