Job Summary

The Power BI Platform Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Power BI environment within an organization. This role ensures the stability, performance, and security of the Power BI platform, enabling users to create and share business intelligence reports and dashboards effectively. The Power BI Platform Administrator collaborates with IT and business teams to implement best practices, manage user access, and provide technical support.

Power BI Technical Skills

  • Manage and maintain Power BI workspaces and datasets.
  • Configure and optimize Power BI environments for performance and scalability.
  • Control user access and permissions
  • Monitor Power BI service performance and resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies and security standards.
  • Implement data security measures, including row-level security.
  • Plan and execute upgrades and new feature implementations.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying databases and managing data.
  • Knowledge of Python for data manipulation and automation tasks.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data integration.

    Tableau Technical Skills 

    • Manage and maintain Tableau Server environments, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
    • Configure server settings and manage server upgrades.
    • Control user access and permissions, ensuring appropriate access to data and reports.
    • Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues related to server health and performance.
    • Address and resolve user-reported issues and incidents.
    • Implement data security measures, including user authentication and data access controls.
    • Ensure compliance with data governance policies and security standards.
    • Generate reports on server usage, performance metrics, and compliance.
    • Promote and implement best practices for dashboard design and data visualization.

    Additional Skills

    Analytical Skills:

    • Excellent problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and optimize BI solutions.
    • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and generate actionable insights.

    Soft Skills:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder interaction.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with business users to understand their needs.
    • Skills in writing clear and concise documentation for processes and user guides.

    Project Management:

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
    • Strong organizational skills to prioritize work and meet deadlines

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 2-3 years of experience is preferred
