Position Summary
Under limited direction, this individual is responsible for managing projects for Huron’s growing corporate IT Security and GRC teams. The individual would be responsible for driving various security and GRC projects & initiatives and liaising with technical and business groups to gather requirements, manage projects, promote compliance and security best practices. This role requires the candidate to work collaboratively with various corporate teams and lines of business. As this role necessitates communication within and across time-zones, excellent verbal and written communication is required. The individual should be dynamic, a quick learner and should also have excellent presentation skills.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer project management framework, processes, tools, and templates.
- Manage full project lifecycle of portfolios, programs, and projects.
- Identify and track project management metrics & reporting.
- Provide an executive-level view into all on-going projects/initiatives.
- Track projects, communicate, and escalate. Help ensure performance, milestones are hit, deadlines met, resources utilized, issues/risks managed, projects are within budget, and on-time.
- Develop positive relationships with senior leaders, managers, SMEs, and staff, both within and outside the Corporate Security and GRC teams, resulting in an effective project management function.
- Assess potential projects, define scope, write/maintain business case, identify stakeholders, conduct requirements gathering, create timelines, and assemble project plans.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree is required as well as project management certification (i.e. PMP) or advanced academic degree in project management. Agile certifications are a plus.
- Experience in project/program management of large and small portfolios, programs, and projects including audits and implementing security best practices across various geographies and functional areas, using an industry standard methodology, for example, PMBOK, Prince2, etc.
- Information Security skills including understanding of basic cyber security & GRC.
- At least 3-5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a large company or consulting firm.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to technical and business audiences in a constantly evolving environment.
- Customer-oriented, resourceful, and enthusiastic.
- Experience with tools (i.e., Smartsheet, MS Project/SharePoint, ADO, etc.)
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies. Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean) and their practical application in project management.
- Demonstrated ability to absorb technical information in limited timeframes.
- Must be able flexible with work hours and be able to work and coordinate with teams during US business hours.
Preferred Skills:
- Analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze datasets and present in a format that facilitates senior management decision making.
- Security certification(s) from ISC2, SANS, Offensive Security, TCM Security, ISACA, other known certification authority.
- Deeper understanding of security and GRC including but not limited to: network, cloud, information risk management, privacy, regulatory compliance, vulnerability management, DLP, Endpoint, security operations / SOC, third party risk management, etc.
- Experience with automation.
