Bloomberg Originals is seeking a Motion Graphics Artist to help evolve and contribute to the visual storytelling of our video content through the use of thoughtful and dynamic motion graphics. We’re looking for a strong, visual storyteller; someone who has a passion for journalism and a sharp curiosity for all things business, politics, technology, culture and lifestyle. You will be a nimble and organized designer, a strong communicator, and most importantly - a reliable team player. On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for concepting, designing, illustrating, and animating motion graphics elements for our non-fiction video properties, end-to-end; from initial storyboards to final animation. Projects will include short and long form video documentaries and docu-series. A keen understanding of editorial design is important.
We’ll trust you to:
- Ensure design standards and brand guidelines are followed
- Take a project from concept to completion while working in a deadline-driven environment
- Be on top of industry trends in video and animation throughout digital media
- Be proactive - pitch ideas, be creative, bring your expertise to the table and elevate our content
- Be precise in sourcing content and creating elements for your work using our large internal library of video and images as well as external resources
- Deliver your content to multiple destinations, be familiar with various digital platforms and metadata requirements that are crucial for digital success
- Work with various programs throughout your shift including the Bloomberg Terminal, editing and design software, newsroom programs and distribution tools
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
- 4+ years of motion design experience at a media company
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite as well as expertise in design, typography and motion graphics
- Ability to conceptualize and storyboard sequences
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects at a time
- Passion for visual storytelling with strong conceptual and creative thinking skills
- High level understanding of video and animation production workflows
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across the studio with producers, editors, social team members, and other content creators
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
