While legal measures can enforce pay equity, they cannot alone address the underlying societal and organizational biases contributing to the gender pay gap. Legal interventions need to be complemented by initiatives that address workplace culture, biases in hiring and promotion processes, and the unequal burden of unpaid care work to be genuinely effective.
