Session: Choose Your DEI Adventure; finding new ways to bring our colleagues into Diversity, Equity & Inclusion work
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts have historically been grass-roots programs managed by affected employees, creating a tax on the under-represented. How can we make sure everyone is getting engaged in DEI efforts in a tangible way? Find out how Morningstar is increasing DEI engagement with a program based on role playing games.
Bio
Abby Dryer (she/her) got her start in DEI work by helping to create the strategy of utilizing existing internal systems to launch a no-cost, self-sustaining volunteer-based mentoring program for the Women’s Employee Resource Group at BMO Harris. In addition to a short stint on the board of the Chicago Financial Women’s Alliance in 2017, Abby has helped to facilitate Gender Equity Conferences in Chicago and has been the Technology Diversity Council Champion at Morningstar since 2020. Her goal is to bring Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into day-to-day life at the office, not limited to a 'side of the desk' exercise, or party-like events that don't make sustainable change.
