Technical Engineering Manager, Cloud / Partner Ecosystem

Calix Cloud and software platforms enable Broadband Service Providers, or BSPs, of all sizes to innovate and transform their businesses. Our BSP customers are empowered to utilize real-time data and insights from Calix platforms to simplify their businesses and deliver experiences that excite their subscribers. Cloud Partner Ecosystem helps expand the portfolio of Revenue Edge solutions available to BSPs. This enables BSPs to grow their businesses through increased subscriber acquisition, loyalty and revenue, thereby increasing the value of their businesses and contributions to their communities.

As part of a highly motivated global Cloud Engineering team, the right candidate will play a critical hands-on functional leadership role as Technical Engineering Manager and drive architecture design, implementation, and integration for Calix Cloud Partner Ecosystem.

Responsibilities          

• Technical leadership in all phases of software design and development in meeting requirements of service stability, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Hiring, training, provide technical direction and lead discussions and coordinate deliverables across multiple engineering teams globally.
• Work closely with Cloud product owners to understand, analyze product requirements, provide feedback, coordinate resourced and deliver a complete solution.
• Drive design and implementation of common infrastructure solution for expanding the Calix Cloud Partner Ecosystem.
• Drive development of common infrastructure services in Calix Cloud and enable automation of all processes for onboarding customers.
• DevOps and Agile methodologies to improve cycle times, consistency, and quality.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to translate platform opportunities into an actionable roadmap, track progress, and deliver new platform capabilities on-time and on-budget.
• Customer-facing engineering role in debugging and resolving field issues.

Qualifications:

• 12 years of highly technical, hands-on software engineering experience with at least five years of Cloud experience
• 3+ years leading geographically distributed teams to successful delivery of quality solutions.
• Experience leading engineering team with strong technical direction and delivering high quality software on schedule, including delivery for large, cross-functional projects.
• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or relevant industry standard experience to match.
• Strong, creative problem-solving skills and ability to abstract and share details to create meaningful articulation.
• Passionate about delivering high quality software solutions and enabling automation in all phases.
• Experience in cloud-to-cloud integrations with API and pub/sub model notification based interfaces
• Experience with API Gateways and designing developer Portal/ sandbox for API integrations (Apigee a plus)
• Experience with implementing solutions around AAA, Role and View based access control models.
• Awareness of data governance, privacy and security guidelines and processes and implementing the related best practices in ecosystem integrations.
• Practical understanding and usage of AWS (or Azure) Cloud platform and services.
• Experience implementing solutions that adhere to best practices and guidelines for different privacy and compliance practices around data (GDPR, CCPA).
• Hands on experience in one or more of the following programming languages - Python, Java, Nodejs.
• Organized and goal-focused, ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.

This is a remote based position that can be based in the United States or Canada.
