The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

You will also be:​

  • Candidate should be able to generate various reports. Knowledge of Cognos based reporting or Tivoli Common Reporting Tool.

  • demonstrate below mentions skills  for TSM Server/ Client / TDP  for Oracle, MSSQL, VM/ Storage Agents:

  • Installation of TSM server/ BA client / TDP for Oracle, VM , MS SQL/ Storage Agents on Windows and AIX [ different OS versions ]

  • Configuration of TSM server with Tape Library [ IBM 3584 ]. Define Library, Define Path. Knowledge on VTL.

  • Define Domains, Storage Pools&Management Classes and Policy Set with Retentions policy as per customer requirement.

  • Define Nodes &Schedule automatic backups and jobs.

  • Should be able to configure Servers used for Storage Agents for LAN Free backup and Configure path at TSM server.

  • Should be able to restore backup of One Site to Other Site.

  • Should be able to take full, incremental backups.

  • Should be able to make offsite backup copy.

  • Monitoring and Reporting

  •  Monitor various backup & Restoration, progress through Admin Console (command line).\

  •  Should have knowledge of SQL queries to take out information from TSM and provide report.

  • Monitor Sessions and Processes.

  • Should keep track of regular TSM repository backup on Disk and Tapes along with Volume history and Device Configuration.

  • Should be able to understand various events and activity logs like Information, Warning and Errors of TSM Server and Clients, Storage Agents.

  • Should be able to fix the issues related to backup and Restorations of the various operating systems [ ie., Windows, AIX ], TDP and Storage Agents.    

  • Raise PMR with IBM for TSM related issues.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 8 years of relevant experience in and TSM Administration.

  • Candidate should have experience in handling 24/7 Environment with multiple TSM servers.

  • Candidate should have thorough knowledge of TSM and it's architecture.

  • Candidate should have good communication skills, and should understand customer's requirement clearly.

  • Candidate should have knowledge of Different backup devices, Tape devices.

  • Should have knowledge of opt files and sys files used for configurating the Clients and Agents. 

  • Candidate should be aware about the process and documentation followed in IT industry e.g, ITIL

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Education: Graduate (IT Specialization would be preferred)

  • Certifications: Professional certifications in IBM TSM admin (Not mandatory)
