This is what is required to succeed as a macro squawker on Bloomberg's Markets Live team. You will turn geopolitics, monetary policy and economics into actionable market insights. You will broadcast over our audio squawk channel and contribute written data-based analysis across asset classes, collaborating with our team of bloggers, as well as the broader newsroom. You will use your contacts and knowledge to keep your finger on the pulse of what gets our terminal clients buzzing.
Bloomberg News is looking for a macro squawker/strategist to join its Markets Live team. The position requires a keen grasp of financial markets and their interconnections, the ability to instantly recognize market-moving news, the analytical skills to identify underlying dynamics, experience in writing cleanly under pressure and a clear articulate voice in English.
We’ll trust you to:
- Exercise excellent news judgment
- Broadcast relevant headlines and insightful market updates over our squawk audio channel
- Produce macro markets analysis for Bloomberg's Markets Live blog with authority and accuracy in English
- Identify underlying themes and shifts in global markets
- Be collaborative
- Have the ability to tap a varied pool of market contacts and analysis tools to shape ideas
You’ll need to have:
- At least 8 years of experience
- Proven experience analyzing or reporting on global asset markets
- Experience of working in a front-line markets role or a real-time news organization
- A strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
- An ability to work calmly under pressure
- Familiarity with Bloomberg terminal functions (preferred)
Salary Range = 140000 - 195000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
