Partner with the best

You're part of the Host Platform team responsible for performance and reliability of the Cloud Computing infrastructure. We ensure integrity of our server software along with efficient use of host and network resources. We continuously optimize our platform to achieve the best-in-class cloud computing solution for our customers.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Working on the host software that powers our data centers
• Optimizing resource utilization and VM performance on our hosts
• Participating in technical discussions as a valued team member
• Assisting junior team members develop their skills
• Improving internal processes and systems on a consistent basis
• Researching, proposing, and integrating relevant open-source projects based on product objectives

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• Demonstrate your experience with C, C++, Python, Go, or Perl
• Demonstrate your experience working with Linux based OS & familiarity with VMs
• Have experience writing organized, efficient, and well documented code
• Be able to discuss abstract software architectures from ideas through implementation and creatively apply domain experience to solve technical challenges
• Be comfortable with working on agile methodology such as Scrum

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $106,600 - $221,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
