Campaigns against gender discrimination have historically focused on a narrow understanding of gender, often overlooking the complex realities of individuals facing multiple forms of discrimination. The concept of intersectionality teaches us that gender does not operate in isolation, but in conjunction with race, class, sexuality, and other identities. Incorporating an intersectional approach could significantly enhance the effectiveness of our campaigns by addressing the diverse experiences of discrimination.
