Are you excited to be among the keynote speakers at the WomenTech Global Conference 2021 and what motivated you to join our community of 100 000 women in tech, minorities, and allies?
As an industry analyst in technology I have been working with both software vendor and enterprise client teams since 2006. I am optimistic about the changes in diversity across these clients but I also want to highlight that there is tremendous amount of room for improvement. My mission is to inspire individuals (and specifically women and minorities) about their future in technology as technology is going to be essential for us all. No matter if in our private life or as part of our career, technology adoption and innovations will continue to accelerate and there are incredible opportunities to be part of this as marketeers, product managers, engineers, architects or leaders. Each one of us owns the future of work after this incredible pandemic and there is no better place than the WomenTech Global Conference to share some of the research findings, trends and thought leadership around technology and automation.
Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction?
I started my career in IT Operations at a large IT Company in the USA. From there I shifted into the software division at this large IT company where I worked myself up to become the Director of Competitive Intelligence. I had a wonderful team, great leaders and we eagerly developed strategies on how to win against the competition. In 2006 I became interested in a position as Senior Analyst at Forrester Research and after a few weeks of interviewing and presenting I was hired. I was continuously inspired by the ability to help my clients with advise, strategy, and thought leadership on topics around IT Automation and Technology and I loved it. Every day was different with different challenges of software vendors and enterprise clients across the globe. Upon my return to Europe in 2018 I took a break, worked for a short time at a software company but knew that I had to go back to the analyst work. Today, I have two jobs:
1. I am the Chief Research and Content Officer for the DevOps Institute where I am responsible for developing research and content for our members
2. Research Director at Research In Action (a boutique analyst company) where I develop vendor comparisons across a variety of IT Automation topics.
Who would you advise to attend the Global Conference and why?
Anyone who wants to take their career to the next level. No matter if you want to improve your knowledge around a specific topic, or if you want to learn how to move to something else, or if you want to get familiar with new ways of networking and connecting, this conference has it all. The power of the network is huge and you will for sure learn and meet someone who will be sharing a defining thing with you.
