AI holds the promise of transforming every industry. However, successful deployments of AI are limited to the consumer internet industry so far. What are the challenges? How do we bridge the gap between research breakthroughs and practical production deployments?In this talk, I’ll describe some key challenges facing AI deployments, introduce a typical lifecycle, and also discuss some design considerations to ensure robustness as well as the generalizability of AI systems.
