Session: The Future of Education is Gameified
As parents, caregivers, and educators look at the “new normal” and how kids have changed over the course of the pandemic, they’re looking to alternative ways of supporting children’s learning. People in the kids entertainment and gaming spaces have seen how kids have gradually shifted towards more immersive experiences that utilize all their senses. Today, experts in gaming, tech and education are coming together to address the needs of these young students and adapt educational materials to meet them where they are.
In this session, PBS KIDS’s Abby Jenkins dissects how tech and gaming can “show up” for the kids of today. She’ll walk through what she’s seeing in her line of work, how they’re crafting gaming to be more educational, accessible, and welcoming, and the opportunity gamifying education presents to educators, parents and kids alike.
