THE ROLE

We're looking for a backend software engineer to be part of Farfetch Platform Solutions content team. Your role will involve design, development and follow up of content related capabilities on the service oriented platform. This means being able to work with different stakeholders, from product to engineering, service managers or delivery managers and be involved in a diverse and rich technological environment. You will report to the Engineering Lead.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Inside your team push for roadmap initiatives both in design phase, implementation and delivery;
  • Develop and mature your domain boundary in an overall consistent platform effort and alignment;
  • Assure domain proper operation, monitoring and observability;
  • Manage your developments life cycle;
  • Document and break down programs for implementation planning with your product owner;
  • Work with other FARFETCH teams on shared developments coordinating operations on Farfetch Platform Solutions end;
  • Proof and think latest concepts;
  • Mentor your team.

WHO YOU ARE

  • A solid backend developer, with 5+ years of experience, aware and practitioner of architecture and design principles;
  • Fluent in microservices environments and related principles and patterns;
  • Expresses APIs following OpenAPI standards;
  • A user of unit and integration tests techniques and frameworks;
  • Proficient in non relational and relational databases, i.e., Mongo, Cassandra, SQLServer;
  • Experienced user of messaging systems and concepts;
  • Aware of OAuth concepts and common user of them to authenticate and authorize users and systems;
  • Used to document your designs, plans and developments and base your communication with others on those assets;
  • Used to operate logs and application monitoring systems to follow your developments in production and is therefore aware of such perspectives in your everyday activities;
  • A general user of CI/CD systems;
  • Autonomous in pursuing your goals knowing when to reach out to unblock;
  • At ease with written and spoken English.
