About the Role

We are seeking a Team Lead - Marketing Technology and Data Solutions being part of Springer Nature Technology. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the role out, continues improvement and innovation of applications, data- and technology products within our global MarTech stack.  

You will partner with marketing stakeholders to help them achieve ambitious goals by leveraging a suite of state-of-the-art solutions, including Braze, Segment, HubSpot, as well as in-house data products built on GCP/GBQ and custom-developed applications.Are you a passionate Leader with a background in data engineering, full-stack- and MarTech applications? Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, grow and manage a cross-functional team of developers, data engineers, scrum masters and MarTech architects

  • Assume responsibility for creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture

  • Be responsible for recruiting and team health

  • Work closely with marketing, product, and IT teams to define project requirements and ensure successful delivery, while demonstrating active stakeholder management

  • Evaluate, implement and improve MarTech applications (including both vendor-based solutions and in-house developments) data products, and additional tooling to support a scalable and robust MarTech stack while balancing leadership and hands-on work

  • Ensure adherence to (architectural) best practices, coding standards, and quality control across all projects

  • Define the technical roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders, identifying new opportunities and optimizing existing workflows

  • Champion data privacy and compliance best practices across systems and data pipelines.

  • Apply quality controls and data monitoring, to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integration across platforms

What you will be doing:

Within 3 Months you will:

  • Get to know the team, the stakeholders and Springer Nature

  • Learn about the teams' processes and ceremonies

  • Get familiar with our MarTech stack and the processes we run

  • Dive into the running projects and start contributing

By 3-6 months you will:

  • Upskill the team through training and mentorship; Establish feedback loops with the team for continuous improvement

  • Take over and shape the MarTech roadmap aligned with marketing- and company objectives

  • Review coding standards, best practices, workflows and ways of working

  • Drive initiatives/projects which enhance the MarTech stack

By 6-12 months you will:

  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence and innovation within the team

  • Promote collaboration, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing across the organization.

  • Implement scalable systems and processes to support growing marketing needs and to elevate the organization's MarTech maturity

  • Apply active stakeholder management and take active participation in the strategy process

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, information systems, or a related field

  • 8+ years of experience in technology roles, with at least 3 years in a lead or managerial position overseeing cross-functional teams

  • Strong knowledge of MarTech platforms and processes

  • Excellent leadership, mentorship, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a strategic, solutions-oriented mindset

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects and deadlines

  • Experience in facilitating workshops and agile frameworks

  • Experience in defining complex landscape architectures

  • Proven expertise in full-stack development, data engineering or other engineering experience is a plus

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and dev ops processes is a plus
