Job title: Payroll officer /HR Coordinator (m/w/d)
Location: Dordrecht, hybrid working model
Purpose:
This is a combined position with a primary focus on payroll management (2/3 FTE) and providing additional support to employees on general HR queries for employees (1/3 FTE).
The Payroll Officer /HR Coordinator is independently and solely responsible for a smooth and error-free execution and management of the entire payroll process for all Dutch SN entities.
Initiate, develop and implement best practices and improvements in HR Payroll and HR systems and ensure consistency and alignment between the Dutch payroll and the non-Dutch payroll systems.
Primary contact for all national and international payroll, salary and labor tax and social security matters. This for external social security and tax departments, pension fund and employment related insurers, global Finance and Tax departments, local and global HR departments and local employees.
In addition the role is the first point of contact for all HR queries from employees on payroll and compensation related matters.
Experience, skills and qualifications:
- 5 -10 years of experience independently managing a payroll in a global matrix organization
- Bachelor level (HBO) , relevant education/ training regarding payroll (VPS) and personnel administration
- Up-to-date knowledge and experience regarding Dutch payroll and Dutch labour tax legislation, as well as an understanding of the applicable systems in the other countries where Springer Nature operates
- Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch
- SAP technical knowledge/ payroll knowledge
- Experience with in-house payroll and connected HRIS
- Experience with SAP and Workday is desirable
Most important activities:
- Responsible for execution of the Dutch payroll, in house.
- Sparring partner for HR managers for Dutch payroll and employment tax related matters;
- Expertise contribution in national and international HR projects and responsible for ensuring HR policies and systems are compliant with Dutch payroll and wage tax.
- Develop, implement and run several analyses and reports to ensure that Dutch payroll is compliant and fit-for-purpose and in accordance with best practices
- Responsible for providing all relevant financial data to and first point of contact for global Finance departments to ensure relevant accountancy (journal entries) relating to payroll
- Ensure all relevant HR System and payroll activities are completed, checked and if needed adjusted in order to run the Dutch Payroll
- File wage tax returns and pension declarations
- Responsible for compliance with Dutch legislation regarding Dutch payroll and Dutch tax
- First point of contact for Dutch payroll related questions, pension and insurance for employees, line managers and external tax consultants regarding split contract and Dutch tax statements.
- Support the HR International team through report production and data analysis
- Enquiry resolution and escalation as appropriate
- Good knowledge and understanding of HR processes and policies and best practice
