The Role
This is a unique opportunity to join us here at LucaNet as we continue our journey of becoming a true SaaS provider with a new state-of the-art corporate performance solution. Reporting directly to or VP of Architecture, you'll be a conduit between the engineering teams, non-tech teams, and the various stakeholders across the Lucanet ecosystem - advising on all things AWS.

At a macro level, you must be able to make the crucial strategic architectural and technological decisions that will steer Lucanet in the right direction. You will join an established profitable business, with a highly entrepreneurial culture that will empower you to directly impact the future of our product and develop the architecture function.
What you'll do
  • Contribute to the target state architecture
  • Advise engineering teams on use of AWS technologies & design
  • Review & contribute to high level designs that Engineering teams produce
  • Act as a conduit between Product & Engineering to drive out non-functional requirements & ensure they are captured
  • Mentor engineers around architecture, design, trade-offs
  • Involved in proof of concepts to ensure project success
What you bring to the table
  • Strong AWS knowledge across the following areas: 
    • Security (IAM, Cognito)
    • Networking (Base concepts, API gateway, ALB)
    • Storage (S3, DynamoDB, Aurora, RDS, PostgreSQL)
    • Messaging/Eventing (SNS, SQS, EventBridge)
    • Compute (Lambda, EC2, ECS, Fargate)
  • Excellent stakeholder management - Must be able to network & form relationships with key technical stakeholders across multiple teams
  • Confident communicator - Authoritative but open to persuasive counter arguments. 'Strong opinions, loosely held'
  • Ability to create coherent & efficient design proposals and analyse design trade-offs from an Engineering perspective
  • Experience of mentoring/upskilling teams with AWS
