The Role

Kyndryl Agile Scrum Masters are experienced Agilists who work in a dynamic setting to deliver highly effective solutions for our clients. Scrums Masters are specialists, they are highly experienced evangelists of their method, and are able to think strategically and tactically, laying down agreed sprints, applying techniques including MVPs, and managing the continuous evolution of a product or service. They are the driving force for every aspect of an agile engagement’s success, and the “conductor” who orchestrates everyone’s efforts to make beautiful music together. As the single point of contact to the client, you’ll also be the living embodiment of Kyndryl’s reputation every day.

As an Agile Project Manager, you have command of a very full and detail-oriented calendar. You’ll be constructing Epics and Stories, utilizing burn down charts but able to adjust some of the products to fit within wider Waterfall governance structures when needed. You are capable and experienced in managing outcomes by establishing collaborative teams, ensuring that they are properly and appropriately staffed. You will schedule and define the appropriate levels of governance for the tasks in hand, setting up Stand ups, demonstrations, and POC. You will analyze and mitigate risks, manage the scrum budget adapting your reporting style to accommodate finance leaders' requirements, make sure the team has the right skills, then plan and delegate activity to hit deadlines, deliver on MVPs, and generally delight our clients. Of course, plans often evolve as a project unfolds, so you’ll need to practice continuous structural thinking and take ownership for value delivery, not just task scheduling.

But as important as planning and organization are, communication is 90% of the job. You’re the single point of contact with the client, partners, and all stakeholders, supporting them and ensuring they get what they need. This is an exciting multicultural, often multilingual environment. Bottom line: You need to like interactions with other people and know how to be kind and empathetic but also assertive — and handle customer change requests/re-prioritization / backlog changes with diplomacy.

You’re going to be meeting a lot of people, networking, and forging relationships. Our “one team with the customer” concept means you’ll develop especially strong partnerships with the client and elsewhere. Some projects or clients even involve “embedding” with the client at their location. This puts more visibility on you personally, but it also gives you more opportunity to add value to the relationship. This is one of the things Kyndryls love about working here. Becoming an Agile Scrum Master at Kyndryl is an excellent gateway to many different paths. You’ll be creating a well-rounded skillset while gaining professional certifications and qualifications. You can evolve horizontally into other technical or non-technical areas such as Technical Service Architect, or you can move vertically to become a Senior Scrum Manager or Specialist. There are many different types and flavors of Project Manager or Agile roles, so everyone can find the opportunity that suits them best.

We are looking for the following experience and certifications and will be interviewing for the passion and conviction!

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• Solid track record operating as a Scrum Master within a Professional Services environment delivering solutions to blue chip clients

• Demonstratable history of delivery across applications, infrastructure and deep-seated technical understanding of languages, tools and approaches for Agile success

• Operational delivery of Agile engagements with experience of pureplay agile delivery and operational delivery of specific benefits within a wider engagement

• SCRUM Master qualifications or work experience

• Experienced skill level with contemporary agile tooling including Jira and the use of specific development tools

• Excellent organization and planning skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• MS Project. Jira, or other Project Management software

• Ability to interact confidently with stakeholders of all levels
