Job Description Summary
As Principal Cloud Architect, you’ll serve as a leader and mentor for other engineers while owning the design and hands-on development of significant architecture, frameworks, and components of cloud-based Platform as a Service (PaaS). You’ll design and develop using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), architect the cloud platform to be fault-tolerant against hardware and software failures, and address the high availability needs of microservices backed by systems and data processing pipelines.

Job Description
Roles/Responsibilities

Own the design and hands-on development of significant architecture, frameworks, and components of cloud-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) that abstracts the underlying infrastructure for the application development

Design and Develop using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such that it modular, service oriented and replicable across cloud providers and across regions with high consistency

Architect the cloud platform to be fault-tolerant against hardware and software failures with petabyte-level scalability in mind

Address the high availability needs of microservices backed by systems and data processing pipelines

Serve as a leader and mentor for other engineers in their areas of work

Help set the features, design, and best practices of the team, and have significant influence on our overall strategy

Code and test system components; participate in code and design reviews

Demonstrate ownership of end-to-end code quality, system tests, functional tests, and integration
Minimum Qualifications
-
BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
-
8+ years of experience with large-scale projects in software development, infrastructure architecture, compute and networking architecture, edge connectivity, and IT operations automation
-
5+ years of design/architecture/implementation/consulting experience with distributed applications running on the cloud
-
3+ years of experience delivering cloud software for healthcare customers

Solid coding practices including peer code reviews, unit testing, and a preference for agile development
Desired Qualifications
-
Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Solid architectural experience in building Cloud based Platform as a Service that is Cloud Infrastructure provider agnostic

5+ years of in-depth experience in setting environment to deploy services on public cloud
-
2+ years of experience in using Kubernetes or other deployment orchestrator and management mechanisms.

Build CI/CD processes and pipelines to enable 1-click and self-managed deployments.

3+ years working directly with end customers to assess needs, identify solutions, and constructively resolve disagreements
-
Experience with big data systems, analytics, containerized microservices, serverless functions, and event-driven architecture

Experience with design/architecting large-scale distributed systems preferably using AWS technologies

The salary range for this position is $175K - 325K Base. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. Available benefits include health, welfare, retirement and paid leave.
