Session: Abstract: Bringing Software to Life: The Art of the Possible
What happens to software after engineers ship it? The journey doesn’t end there—it’s just the beginning. Solution engineers act as the vital bridge between technical innovation and customer success, leveraging technical expertise and business acumen to bring software to life in ways that drive real-world results.
In this session, I’ll share how curiosity, problem-solving, and strategic storytelling transform complex technology into simple, impactful solutions. Solution engineers may not spend hours writing code, but we are fluent in programming languages, software ecosystems, and configuration tools. We quickly assess, learn, and connect the utility of various technologies to meet customer needs. Beyond that, we collaborate with sales to deliver strategic plays and ensure customer and organizational success.
Using real-world examples—including my first-ever deal, where discovery and technical insight led to positioning an entire product suite—I’ll demonstrate how solution engineers:
- Uncover customer pain points and align them to high-level goals.
- Strategically position software to achieve business outcomes.
- Partner with sales and technical teams to deliver value at every stage of the customer journey.
Attendees will leave with:
- A deeper understanding of how solution engineers combine technical expertise with business strategy to make software indispensable.
- Insights for founders and executives on how solution engineers drive value and revenue.
- A broader perspective for engineers and students on the critical, often overlooked role of solution engineering in bringing their creations to life.
If you've ever wondered how technical brilliance evolves into customer success, join me for a dynamic session that bridges the gap between engineering and solution engineering, showcasing the "art of the possible."
