Neurotechnology and artificial intelligence can unlock the power of the brain's biological learning patterns. Women and marginalized groups are often deterred from entering STEM careers. The origins of this off boarding is not a result of their inability to thrive in STEM disciplines. Learn how the science of the brain's learning process can unlock the opportunity to diversify STEM fields and help students of all ages from 2 to 102 be empowered to be lifelong learners based on the plasticity of the brain. Bio
Lauren's unshakable commitment to leading with a mission first approach has differentiated her in every organization she has touched. Her altruistic, entrepreneurial spirit is grounded in practical operational transformation that leads to interoperability across nations, industries, and organizations. In the energy industry, Lauren pioneered a center of excellence for data analytics in support of automated and predictive modeling for autonomous operations in remote locations around the globe yielding operating expense/safety event reductions and increases in employee retention. Lauren was one of the first leaders to introduce automated expertise identification via data analytics which throttled her global influence in the Tech industry. Other roles she held in the energy industry include Vice President of Digital Transformation and the Digital Security and Risk Officer. After a call to expand her impact, Lauren headed security architecture for modernization to the cloud adopting secure by design principles and automating security into code. Lauren was promoted to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for responsible innovation to meet Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets for social responsibility. Simultaneously, she was the CTO for an internal healthcare start-up to drive equitable, quality healthcare leveraging responsible AI to transform the healthcare industry.
Lauren has a reputation for introducing the possibilities and application of data, analytics and automation with ethical, secure means of transforming organizations while managing risk. Lauren helps empower others by teaching these subjects to undergraduate and graduate students. Lauren holds a Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania focusing her research on educational neuroscience and artificial intelligence to help gain access to education for underserved and underrepresented students.
Lauren is a Board Member of CanCare, a non-profit leveraging technology to improve emotional support for cancer patients and their caregivers.
Lauren is a First Generation College Graduate, which inspires her motivations to improve access to education for all.
