Session: Selfless service to humanity and its prosperity
To contribute to the betterment of society is one of the most noble actions a human being can engage on. We can all be agents of change, through directing our talents and abilities to the elevation of our communities. Interestingly enough, our talents and abilities can be discovered and improved in the field of service. For example: while volunteering you can learn about mutual support, which plays a huge part in teamwork in your future career.
Many aspects occupy our time - family, education, work, etc.- but we should try to see how all these aspects complement each other; instead of fragmenting our lives, we should try to apply learnings from one aspect to other of them.
When we incorporate selfless service in our life and volunteer our time, knowledge, and energy to causes we believe on, it is easier to see the connection between all the aspects we are part of. We learn to identify things that help us improve, and things that bring us down; and we can also identify these in our communities.
When you volunteer, you can see how much you grow by helping and empowering other people.
We all have a responsibility towards the well-being of humanity; let’s not wait another precious day to dedicate our talents and abilities to make the world a better place!
Bio
I am Software Engineer, and I also volunteer in my local community. I am part of a global process to build vibrant communities. I help empower people in my neighborhood to take charge of their own well-being, and to build the capacities required to do so. My service efforts inspired by Baha’i teachings. I am a firm believer that every little action for social change is important, no matter who or when it comes from. I also believe that Spiritual and material progress need to go hand and hand as we develop tools for the betterment of humanity.
