About the role:

We are looking for an Analyst Strategy & Market Intelligence (m/w/d) to join the Corporate Strategy team as of February 2025. Tasks will include analyses of research markets and competitive environment, focusing on journals and research books, with the goal to support strategic planning and business growth. Projects vary from short-term market investigations to long-term analyses focused on evaluating competitive threats, market trends and growth opportunities.

This position will give you the opportunity to work at the heart of our Corporate Strategy team, gain deep insights into the world of publishing and support data driven decision making across the research business. Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Head of Market Intelligence on projects across our research division
  • Develop and execute market analyses, including market sizing, segmentation and market share studies
  • Retrieve market data from various external databases; organize, clean and enhance data for further analysis; identify and interpret patterns
  • Monitor industry and competitive trends and assess the implications for Springer Nature
  • Benchmark competitor financial data
  • Provide market intelligence support for colleagues in other functions
  • Develop positive relationships with stakeholders across the organization through consistent high-quality work

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in business, finance or related field; or other subject areas across the humanities combined with data analysis experience
  • Strong data analysis skills, ability to report and present clearly using MS Office, highly proficient in Excel & Power Point
  • An affinity for the publishing industry, journals, books and science
  • Curiosity and the ability to “deep dive” into details with high accuracy while staying focused on the big picture
  • Organized way of working, reliable, capacity to work collaboratively in a small team as well as independently
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in international teams
  • Fluent in English and German
