While flexible leave policies exist on paper, their potential to facilitate work-life balance for women in tech remains largely untapped. Factors such as workload, project deadlines, and the stigmatization of leave-taking can inhibit their effectiveness. A reevaluation of how these policies are implemented and perceived is necessary to make work-life balance more than just an aspirational goal.
