Mechanical Engineer with experience in measurement/verification of complex tooling, fixtures and components. The position supports Process Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Inspection to improve product quality, define inspection requirements and develop efficient inspection methods. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Measure / Maintain / Update production tools & fixtures used in the manufacturing of ultrasound probes
  • Collect measurement data, analyze and write reports to verify and/or validate conformance to specified requirements
  • Develop, define, and qualify efficient inspection procedures utilizing advanced metrology equipment
  • Formally document new part designs and changes to existing parts according to internal and external requirements
  • Formal and timely communication to the management team on project status
  • Work with Quality Assurance to help understand and reduce internal and external mechanical related variability
  • Understand, measure and improve manufacturing process capabilities
  • Troubleshoot mechanical related manufacturing yield issues
  • Works with design, certification, planning, manufacturing, purchasing and suppliers to resolve mechanical issues
  • Create, edit and approve engineering changes, work instructions, deviations, and other documentation as required
  • Performs other related duties as required

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in a FDA, ISO13485, or other highly regulated environment
  • CAD design software, Solidworks or related is required
  • Understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T
  • Expertise with inspection equipment and software e.g. CMM, automated optics, profilometer etc. is required
  • Understanding of basic manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, etc.)
  • Develop a project scope and timeline
  • Must be able to communicate and interact successfully with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to use a statistical approach when analyzing and evaluating alternatives to manufacturing issues
  • Bring energy and enthusiasm to each days effort
  • Must be able to work independently/self-motivated
