Session: Valuable insights from the Journey to Chief Data Officer

This talk will begin with a brief overview of what a Chief Data Officer (CDO) does, provide examples from the journey to CDO, and provide valuable lessons that may inspire others interested in a similar journey.
Bio
Dana is the GE Healthcare Chief Data Officer. She has a long history of helping to create new businesses and driving outcomes through technology. Dana has most recently led Analytics and Data Management for ResMed, leading Software as a Service (SaaS) out-of-hospital data and analytics strategy maximizing the value of the company’s data assets and driving provider efficiencies, integrated care coordination and better patient outcomes. She also led the company’s sleep and respiratory care advanced analytics strategy and managed a global team to leverage and expand ResMed’s informatics platforms to create insights using AI/ML technologies. She is a global leader in the healthcare, life sciences and technology industries, and has built, transformed and managed multimillion-dollar organizations.
Prior to ResMed, she served as the chief information officer in the biopharmaceutical industry where she developed the global information strategy for commercialization and oversaw the launch of products and technologies. She also held executive positions at Deloitte & Touche and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) where she created and grew multiple successful businesses.
She is the recipient of the San Diego Business Journal’s IT Executive of the Year Award, the YWCA Tribute to Women in Industry Award, and the Deloitte Community Impact Award. She also participates in several national and local community organizations and was recognized in the Marquis Publication Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.
Dana holds an M.S. in operations research from Stanford University and a B.S. in computer science from Rutgers University. She lives and works in San Diego, CA with her husband and dogs
