Session: A Software Development Journey in Self Confidence
This talk will be about my journey to becoming a skilled android engineer and engineering manager. I did not have the tools or resources early on as a kid to set myself up for success. In fact, I did not find my passion in computer science until I was about 20. By a pure independent nature a desire for something better in life did I get to where I am today. This talk will talk about how even as humble beginnings as I came from, any woman can create change. You can change your future. You can change the future of others; the first step in getting there is believing that you can.Key Takeaways

Bio
I am from a small blue-collar town in Pennsylvania and lived a bit all over the place in the US, but have now settled down in North Carolina. I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. I have grown into an Android Engineer over the last ten year and was recently promoted to Engineering Manager. I have a true passion for mobile technology and mentoring others who are interested in a career in technology. In my personal life, I am a wife and mother to one beautiful daughter and two dogs.
