The Strategy Manager has a critical role in helping to define high-impact, long term business strategies and frameworks, short and long-term planning, and M&A and partnership opportunities. Partners with executive management across business groups to build strategies for delivering end user and IT experiences as well as internal planning to secure budgets to execute against plan. High visibility role working with all levels of the organization for driving cross-organizational strategies on initiatives such as collaboration and Office of the Future. Responsibilities include strategy presentations for senior leadership and ELT, market sizing, experience and use cases, business case development, partnering opportunities, LTP, and secures budgets for plans and projects.
Leads a large or broad function/department within a multifaceted organization. Responsible for operational success, strategic alignment and integration of activities with other major organizational functions. Owns a significant number of measurable functional, operational and strategic goals or priorities. Acts as a key advisor to executive management in influencing the strategic direction of the business. Management consultant experience a must, and product experience desired. Must have a start-up mentality and ability to work in an agile, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Develops cross-business strategic frameworks for the commercial business and pan-PS hybrid work initiatives to drive priorities for the organization
Develops executive presentations and business strategies and models.
Monitors market landscape, analyzes build, partner, buy options, and make recommendations for organic and inorganic investments.
Leads critically important, high impact , time-sensitive efforts to identify new business strategies and opportunities (e.g., new business models, growth initiatives, new categories or innovations).
Leads highly complex strategic, organizational, and operational initiatives, including Mergers &Acquisitions projects, business development, and large-scale transformation.
Partners with executives in creating strategic initiatives and securing budgets for plans and projects on a wide range of strategic issues, including risk management and implementation tactics.
Oversees significant research and analysis efforts and develops new tools and processes to evaluate strategic objectives.
Influences and coaches executives by presenting compelling analyses and recommendations that build the business case for new strategic initiatives.
Directs large, global, virtual, and cross-functional teams and communications to facilitate the development of strategic initiatives and fully integrate strategic initiatives across businesses and regions.
Provides innovative thought leadership and makes significant contributions to HP's strategic planning knowledge base.
Provides strong leadership, develops and sets individual and team goals, and acts as a change agent and leader.
Ensures proper tools and resources are in place to support team efforts.
Education and Experience Required:
Typically 12+ years experience.
Often 4-7 years post-advanced degree experience leading projects, deals, and company financial improvement initiatives in management consulting or corporate strategy, Advanced university degree (e.g., MBA) or demonstrable equivalent.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to operate in a highly dynamic environment. Ability to work through ambiguity and be flexible to address both short term demands and long term planning. Start-up as well as Corporate experience desired.
Superior verbal and written presentation skills. Ability to drive a clear and concise strategic narrative based on key data, insights, trends.
