About the role

HR Business Partners work with senior managers and key stakeholders to help build organizational and people capability, and shape and implement effective people strategies and activities within the organization. You will play a key role in supporting and shaping the division's functional HR strategy and initiatives as well as proactively developing strong partnerships both with the division and the wider HR team to deliver HR value-added service to managers and our employees across the globe.

You will act as a first point of contact for strategic senior-level roles and will aim to improve business results by ensuring that business strategy is supported by relevant HR plans, translated into concrete actions.

This role is offered on a permanent basis and can be located in our Heidelberg or London office (hybrid working model).

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong partnerships with specific client groups and provide strategic guidance and advice to leadership on a variety of people topics.
  • Bring HR and people expertise to create and implement effective HR solutions, supporting strategic needs and business challenges from a people perspective.
  • Identify, design and coordinate divisional-specific global projects and policies to improve overall business performance
  • Drive or support transformation and change processes across the division ensuring effective collaboration and communication across the matrix.
  • Act as a divisional point of HR expertise for CoE teams, and partner with Country HR and wider teams to deliver Springer Nature HR strategy
  • Take a data-driven approach to HR by using appropriate HR analytics to make decisions on topics within the division.
  • Working closely with VP HR Business Partnering, support and maintain divisional HR plan to meet immediate, short and long-term people needs
  • Introduce and promote global HR initiatives, guidelines, policies, procedures and tools within the division and ensure compliance and successful implementation
  • Collaborate with Internal Communications globally to ensure positive and consistent HR and people communication is shared to the business
  • Work closely with MRA and the wider Global HR team to ensure visibility and understanding of performance against relevant people topics such as T&A, Training, and FTEs.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Solid experience in a similar role working within a global HR team
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills with a proven track record of supporting stakeholders at a senior level, including Directors, VPs, and MDs
  • Experience of working in a complex matrix organisation
  • Experience of change management and organisation transformation
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to work with different cultures
  • Understanding of legal frameworks on transformation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data, metrics and evidence to drive decision-making and change
  • German language would be advantageous and the experience of working successfully with employee forums and works councils
  • Initiative, resilience, and interpersonal skills are essential
