What You’ll Do
- Lead, support and enhance the operations of our Network teams, including cloud network infrastructure expansion and troubleshooting.
- Use your skills to improve our processes, leading by example.
- Collaborate with peers to design, deploy and manage cloud networking infrastructure, adhering to New Relic's best practices.
- Understand tech trends, drive how they impact our team, and how/if/when the team implements them.
- Understand our technical challenges and make educated decisions by having open conversations with members of our team.
- Mentor colleagues on both the technical and interpersonal facets of network team membership.
- Own and focus on cost control measures for our cloud infrastructure.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and bake stability into everything you do to ensure a healthy work/life balance.
What your playground will look like:
- A multi-cloud ecosystem ingesting over 3 billion data points per minute, handling 150 petabytes of data monthly, and receiving over 70 billion HTTP requests daily from our customers.
- A constantly evolving architecture, with hundreds of containerized services across multiple agile teams.
- A tech stack that includes BGP, CDN, Kubernetes, Istio, Envoy, DNS, Python, Go, Terraform, and more!
This role requires
Must-have:
- 8+ years proven experience building and supporting scalable, highly available, and secure network infrastructure on public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Strong expertise in cloud and container networking, streaming platforms.
- Solid expertise with cloud network security
- Solid understanding of modern cloud deployment patterns and infrastructure as code frameworks like Terraform and Golang.
- Programming experience with one or more of these languages: Go, Terraform, CrossPlane etc.
- Ability to write code relative to common architecture patterns with DevOps experience and mindset.
- Traditional Networking & Security Concepts - BGP, NAT, firewall policies, VPN, TCP-Dumps, Wireshark
- Ability and flexibility to work across multiple time zones and in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent in relationship building and communication.
- Highly organized and have the ability to multitask.
Nice-to-have:
- Current or previous certifications in AWS and/or Azure Networking
- Technical documentation, architectural diagrams, Jira, Scrum, NR1/NRQL
- Experience with telemetry, observability and analytics applications!
