Job Description

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Partner with business leaders and data owners to execute companywide strategy, guardrails and policies for Data Governance and Management

• Identify tactical actions for implementing data governance programs to eliminate current challenges

• Create and publish required structure, processes, and mechanisms for Data Councils

• Work with senior members to craft data strategies, and conduct data management maturity assessments

• Work with internal stakeholders (such as Finance, Digital, Services, and Supply Chain) to evaluate data consumption requests and identify any necessary business requirements, guardrails, and controls

• Assist data analytics teams to implement projects and viable solutions that align with data management best practices

• Responsible for building data catalogs, metadata, KPIS and lineage across data assets

• Drive data definitions and data quality metrics to improve data accuracy

• Responsible for helping teams to improve data services such as ingestion, exports, profiling, data quality management and associated data models for data stores (enterprise data warehouses, data lakes, CDP etc.)

• Responsible for designing implementation plans, capability maps and go to market strategy for data management platforms EDC, DQ, Data as a Service, etc.

• Engage with Data Stewards, Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Architects as data management SME

• Provides research and counsel to the Data Domain Owner in defining the operational, tactical and strategic plans associated with the key data elements in their domain that are critical to enterprise performance success

• Assists the Data Domain Owner in crafting and maintaining granular enterprise data definitions and data quality requirements

• Assists the Data Domain Owner in identifying potential data management risks across the full lineage

• Partners with the Data Domain Owner in interfacing with Analytic and Enterprise Application Owners, Data Stewards, Data Custodians and Governance Steering

• Direct involvement in developing business requirements, best practices, process flows, configuration, and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering with a minimum of 8 + years of experience

• Relevant data analytics, management & governance experience (master data, metadata, data architecture, data strategy, data quality, data modeling, & data standards)

• Experience with Enterprise data catalog, data quality, data marketplace, multi-domain MDM (Collibra, Informatica, etc.)

• Experience with AWS tools and services

• Demonstrated depth in architectures and technology to support data ingestion, storage, metadata management, master data management, reporting, and analysis

• Significant prior professional work experience with demonstrated achievement in data and analytics domain.

• Demonstrates knowledge on technical topics, such as caching, APIs, data transfer, scalability, and security

Desired Characteristics

• Demonstrated ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision

• Demonstrated success managing projects and/or implementing process improvement initiatives

• Strong analytical and clear-thinking skills; ability to identify trends and implement process improvements.

• Prior GE Experience, DTLP and /or CAS graduate
