Parents must actively challenge the stereotypes and biases that suggest STEM fields are not for girls. This means consciously providing equal opportunities for daughters and sons and highlighting successful women in STEM careers as role models. A continuous conversation about the achievements of women in these fields can inspire and motivate daughters to pursue their passions regardless of societal expectations.
