Session: A foot in the door, at the table and beyond
We are women and we belong in tech. Think beyond the gender/ diversity statistics. Forget male hackers who don't shower and hide under hoodies. Women are CISOs too. It's common to feel a little bewildered and overwhelmed, as a woman, in the field of cyber security. We don't historically belong here - or do we? Breaking the boundaries of women not belonging in tech isn't an easy feat. We are fed imagery, media, bias and beliefs that tech is for men and women just cannot possible have the expertise to get a foot in the door. In this session you'll have your eyes opened, you'll see that there most definitely is a place for women in tech - you'll get your foot in the door, sit at the table and imagine your career potential to new heights. You'll learn the pros and cons of certifications and studies vs. experience and most importantly, steps you can take and resources you can utilise to further yourself and your career.
