New Relic is seeking an experienced Payroll Senior Manager to lead our Payroll team and all its functions. As a payroll leader, you will help ensure accurate and timely processing of monthly global payroll across all the New Relic entities and regions. The ideal candidate is dedicated, analytical, has a deep understanding of the payroll process and all its legal requirements. You’ll oversee transformation projects to implement new payroll vendors, and oversee their performance.

What you'll do
  • Manage and oversee the payroll process for the organization, including preparation, processing, and distribution of payroll checks, direct deposits, and tax payments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.
  • Review and reconcile payroll reports, ensuring accuracy before processing.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to maintain employee records, including salaries, wages, deductions, and taxes.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll data for audits and financial reporting.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and best practices.
  • Provide training and support to payroll staff on payroll systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive payroll information with discretion.
  • As required, lead transformation projects to implement new payroll vendors.


This role requires
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, Masters degree is a bonus
  •  Minimum of 8 years in handling APJ & EMEA payroll and working with payroll vendors
  •  Proven ability in full cycle payroll processing in a supervisory role
  •  Experience working with systems like Workday Payroll, CloudPay, ADP etc
  •  Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (i.e reconciliations, vlookups and pivot tables)
  •  Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, FLSA laws, compliance and payroll reporting
  •  Excellent analytical, problem solving and prioritization skills
  •  Experience in a medium sized global public company is strongly preferred.
  •  Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
