Although STEM fields have traditionally seen a gender disparity, quantum computing presents a new and uncharted territory where efforts to bridge this gap can be significantly impactful. By focusing on attracting, supporting, and retaining women in quantum computing from the outset, the industry can move towards more balanced gender representation. This endeavor requires concerted efforts in education, mentorship, and policy-making to ensure women have equal opportunities to thrive in this frontier.
