Tell us about your experience as a Women in Tech Global Conference 2022 speaker.

I had a positive experience at the WomenTech 2022 Global Conference, especially as one of the main stage speakers. I received a lot of support and guidance before my speech as well.

The moderator was very welcoming and made a very informative introduction before I took the stage. Besides, I had some time to look around the conference and understand the audience better, so I was ready to answer the audience’s questions at the end of my speech.

What is your favorite thing about working in tech?

I would say it’s the change. The tech field is constantly changing, and you get to address new challenges and embrace new opportunities. I especially enjoy growing with the industry and my company, where consumers are at the forefront of our work. The best part is that thanks to technology, we as a team and I individually can empower millions of people worldwide and make their lives more rewarding by helping them to make the best shopping decisions. I can also feel how my role as a leader can support and shape a better work environment for the people I work for.

What advice (and tips) would you give to women who want to start a tech career?

I think my advice would apply to all women in all fields. I believe in being strong and believing in yourself and your abilities. However, many people might mistake it for embracing masculine qualities to succeed. Instead, I am trying to convey that you can still be a woman and represent a woman in every room. You do not have to pretend to be like someone to lead. You can also lead with empathy and openness about your vulnerabilities and what you want to learn to succeed even further.

Who would you recommend to join the WomenTech Network?

Definitely, for those who are stepping their foot in the industry. They have the opportunity to look around and see which topics ignite the spark of interest and move in this direction. This is also a good place for mentorship, both for mentors and mentees. Also, it is an excellent opportunity to build your unique network of professionals in your field who might have faced the same challenges and the same biases in their careers. Using this experience and personal stories should make diving deep into the topics specific to your job or background easier.
