Jane Sarah Lat is a commercially astute and globally experienced finance professional with 12+ years in financial management and analysis.
She has a background working for blue chip multinational organizations such as Verizon, TTEC, Chevron and Ernst & Young. Driven by her passion to upskill with analytic capabilities, she became a Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate and TIBCO Certified Professional on Spotfire.

Tell us about your experience as a Women in Tech Global Conference 2022 speaker.
Having the opportunity to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference was an incredible experience. I was able to share one of the topics I am passionate about which is emotional intelligence, and at the same time connect with women all over the world who work in the same field.
It was inspiring how the event brought together people who are leaders and experts in their domain and share that during the conference.
What is your favorite thing about working in tech?
I am always amazed by how technology has improved so much in the past decade, and how this has shaped our lives.
For me, my favorite thing about working in tech is learning how these technological developments are being used every day all over the world to improve our lives (in terms of the solutions, products, and services that the company I am working for are being used by its clients).
What advice (and tips) would you give to women who want to start a tech career?
I feel like this would be similar to the advice I will give my younger self if I am starting my career all over again. It would be 3 things – education, clarity, and curiosity.
Education: get yourself educated and understand what skills and competencies are needed in the market.
Clarity: ask yourself what you want out of your career, and how this supports the life you want to build.
Curiosity: speak and connect with people to see how they have navigated their careers and learn from people’s experiences.
Having an understanding of these will help you make informed decisions, and enable you to look at things you haven’t thought of before.
Who would you recommend to join the WomenTech Network?
I would definitely recommend women in any stage of their career working in tech to join.
Surrounding ourselves with people who are on the same journey allows us to grow as a person, and at the same time, we influence the people around us to grow and take on new challenges.
